Snowy River Whitewater Journey
Example trip ex Wulgulmerang
Experience an amazing remote section of the iconic Snowy River on a 3 day whitewater paddling journey. 'Paddle your own canoe' using high quality whitewater specific sit on top style kayaks (imported Tootega Catalyst 88 craft) or use our tough self bailing inflatable craft, with no previous experience required. For people wishing to learn the finer points of kayaking it is possible to bring your own whitewater kayak and deck (subject to approval of craft and paddler experience). However, skills learnt in our quality sit on top kayaks are totally transferable to typical sit in decked kayaks and learning time is maximised by not needing to empty swamped boats after a swim.
Raft support ensures all food and camping equipment is carried for you while you learn how to read water and gain boat handling skills from experienced instructors. Rapids are exciting but achievable for all (up to grade 2) and the water is warm (despite the river name!). COVID safe practices are used throughout the trip, in accordance with the current compliance requirements. More in depth
hydrology (reading moving water), river signals, river running procedures and basic rescue techniques are also covered for those who wish to learn.
Minimum age 12 yrs (it is possible for younger children to attend by negotiation but need to have quite good paddling skills or paddle with adult in inflatable craft).
Detailed packing list supplied prior to trip.
